Late Round Fantasy Football Values (Volume 1)

Last season for Patreons only I blessed the real GCF Fam with some of my favorite late round value picks. In that blog I mentioned Amon St. Brown who finished 21rd last season as well as Christian Kirk who finished 26th. Both of these guys were going undrafted or close too it. I have been narrowing down some of the top talent who have an ADP after 150. Some of these guys have huge play making abilities while others are safer plays who can be consistent each week.

As always please check out our GCF Patreon where we have begun to ramp up our content. Blogs/Podcasts/Giveaways/GCF Fantasy league. For just a couple of bucks we helped win several leagues for our members. You can be next!

Gus Edwards ADP 156

The bus is out of the shop and ready to take you motherfuckers to school. I spoke on the pod about JK Dobbins on our Top 25 Rankings on the Pod and why I feel he has a solid season coming up. Most of the reasonings can be used for Edwards case.

The Ravens offensive-line has been a strong point for several years. After last seasons injury debacles they are back in action ready to mow down defenses. Ronnie Stanley is back and Ravens selected Linderbaum in the first round, clearly the best center in the draft. Veteran signings of Morgan Moses and Kevin Zeitler are flying under the radar. This line is strong and ready to get back to the Baltimore Raven way.

Speaking of the Raven way, the rushing attack will be back in full force. JK/Gus/Lamar combined under 12 games last season yet the Ravens still were third in the NFL in rushing yards and 5th in YPC. That was with Latavius Murray and Devonta Freeman leading the way. Despite the insane amount of injuries the Ravens were still productive. This is the Ravens bread and butter, moving the ball on the ground. Harbaugh never went away from his game plan and that won’t change in 2022.

Gus is a guy who has came into the league and has been one of the best change of pace backs. 3 straight seasons of 700+ rushing yards with a career average over 5 YPC. Tell me what RB has numbers like this who you can snag in the later rounds? No RB is safer that late in the draft for your team. Is Gus a league winner? Hell to the no no but he is a serviceable bench piece in a round where most leaguemates are picking daisies.

KJ Osborn ADP 182

Osborn showed flashes last season with the Vikings, tallying 8 games of double digit fantasy points or better. With Thielen missing time toward the end of the season Osborn stepped in and didn’t disappoint.

Osborn had a snap count of 68% last season which should skyrocket in 2022. With new head coach Kevin O’Connell we will see more 3 WR sets pushing that snap count closer to 80%. In practices so far KJ Osborn has been used heavily in the slot which prototypically spells targets for wideouts.

Despite the success in limited snaps and despite the new offensive game plan which should transition to success for all Vikings, Osborn still is almost going undrafted. Someone riddle me that. The Vikings offense has been one of the most productive the past few seasons and Osborn has a real chance of taking over as the WR2 on the squad. He will be a hot commodity during the season and you will be thanking us for the early heads up.

Marvin Jones Jr ADP 199

The 34th ranked WR from 2021 is currently going undrafted in fantasy drafts and I couldn’t tell you why. Maybe it’s because he’s not the sexy pick but he is one of the safest picks so far back end of drafts.

In his first season with the Jags, Jones Jr. finished with 832 yards on 73 catches with 4TDs. That is with a rookie QB. That is with Urban Meyer at head coach. That is with all the dysfunction of that organization. Marvin Jones came in and played like the reliable vet he is. 6 out of his last 7 seasons he has caught more then 780 yards and 4 times in his career he has notched 9 TDs or more. In the Jags horrid 2021 season Marvin Jones finished as a WR2 five times and saw the 4th most targets in the red zone.

With Christian Kirk signing a massive contract in Jax, Kirk should command the top CB each Sunday. I feel Jones will continue to be Trevor Lawrence’s safety blanket and could be a solid depth piece. With the Jags having the 6th easiest schedule for WRs in fantasy Jones can be a flex play several weeks. The upgrades the Jags have made across the board as well as key players returning from injuries should help the offense overall. Again this isn’t the sexy homerun pick, but more of the safer piece knowing what you are going to get.

Gerald Everett ADP 162

If you know Mikey Roc, you know his few expertises. Fat bitches, being an absentee father and drafting late round tight ends. Gerald Everett is someone I am looking at in this territory. If I completely tank on TEs in drafts I could see myself grabbing Everett in the 14th/15th round of drafts.

Everett last season played most of his games with Russell Wilson, a QB I love who played hurt several games last season. He is also known as a QB who has not done much in terms to help out the TE position. However, after Wilson returned from injury in week 10, Everett finished as a TE1 5 separate times.

I think the change to LA under potentially the best Fantasy QB in the game could do him wonders. One can say Herbert hasn’t worked well with TEs as Jared Cook didn’t have much success but I would argue Cook was on the tail end of his career. Everett is significantly younger and hungrier. He had the highest catch rate for TEs last season with over 60 targets which speaks to how well of a pass catcher he is. I’m slowly getting on the Everett train as a late round TE target.
