Week 8 Waiver Wire

Jared Goff (ESPN 48% Yahoo 58%)

Goff returned from the bye week with a stinker against a tough Dallas defense. We knew this would be a tougher matchup, but looking to seek 8, Motor city should get back to being an offensive threat. The dolphins are a defense that you should be circling on your calendars for any WB you have.

Daniel Jones (ESPN 28% Yahoo 39%)

Depending on your format, Daniel Jones has been a top 10 fantasy QB this season, and a top 5 in the past 4 weeks. How is this possible? 2 things leading to his success. Rushing yards and limited turnovers. He has 343 rushing yards, more then Jalen Hurts, Justin Fields and Kyler Murray. He’s a nice streamer to target week 8 against the Seahawks.

Gus Edwards (ESPN 10% Yahoo 36%)

We heard how Gus was running with the first team during warmups and how he was going to be the lead back with Dobbins on the shelf for 4-6 weeks, but I had to see it to believe it. Well, I saw it and I am on board with Team Gus yet again. Gus did not look like he lost a beat with 16 rushes on 66 yards with 2 TDs. He was a huge part of the Ravens rushing game, who loves to run the ball, and a huge reason for the victory. With this type of workload in his first action since 2020, I cannot wait to see what the future holds for Gus. First Waiver wire target.

Michael Carter (ESPN 69% Yahoo 66%)

My biological son Breece Hall is looking down for the count with an ACL injury. Moment of silence…. Michael Carter did not have the most efficient rushing game today, but he saw a ton of carries after Hall went down and looks to be the new lead back. We saw him in a similar role last year and had some huge games down the stretch, especially through the receiving game. Carter is owned in several leagues, but he needs to be owned in all of them.

D’Onta Foreman (ESPN 32% Yahoo 50%) Chuba Hubbard (ESPN 24% Yahoo 32%)

No CMC no problem. Hubbard and Foreman both starred against the Bucs. Hubbard was named the starter who had 63 yards and a TD on 9 carries. Foreman did even more damage with 15 carries and 118 yards. Should we expect this weekly? Not a chance, but the Panthers aren’t shying away from the running game. Volume is king, and both Panthers RBs took advantage of it. If I had to choose one Panther RB to roster, my first choice would be Foreman. Both RBs showed though that they can have a roster spot on many teams.

Isiah Pacheco (ESPN 9% Yahoo 15%)

The Twitter world went nuts Sunday morning when we found out Pacheco was in line to be the starter. He led the Chiefs with carries Sunday but didn’t blow the roof open. His involvement in the passing game was nonexistent as well, but any time you have a starting role in this Chiefs offense, you are going to be valuable.

Latavius Murray (ESPN 24% Yahoo 39%)

Nathanial Hackett told us Gordon was the starter but it was misleading because Murray saw majority of the workload against the Jets. We didn’t see a replica from last week, but it was enough to tally over 10 fantasy points with most of those coming from a TD. Murray at this point should be one of the later targets from the RB position to target, but nonetheless he’s a target. He’s running in a committee but is looking like the lead of it. When Wilson returns, it should provide some more value for the RBs, with less pressure applied if you could believe that.

Parris Campbell (ESPN 3% Yahoo 4%) Alec Pierce (ESPN 40% Yahoo 56%)

Campbell and Pierce have been playing extremely well for the Colts, despite the inept offensive line play. Campbell is a WR who has all the talent in the world but has had problems with injuries and staying on the field. The rookie Pierce was not up to par with some of his recent performances, but you aren’t going to light it up every week. If these wideouts are going to have continued success, we have to get better offensive line play because Matt Ryan is taking a beaten.

Tyler Boyd (ESPN 57% Yahoo 64%)

This is one of the trickiest players to roster, but he just has to be. With Chase/Higgins/Mixon the featured players in the Bengals offense, Boyd is often left in the dust. For a 4th option, he is doing pretty well, especially this week where he hauled 155 yards and a TD, making it 3 scores on the year. I think moving forward, you have to expect Boyd to be a flex play when facing below average secondaries, because Burrow is going to eat. Boyd matched up against a team’s third best CB is looking like a mismatch against weaker opponents.

Mecole Hardman (ESPN 21% Yahoo 23%)

Have yourself a day Hardman! Not Juju, Not Kelce, Not MVS, Not Sky Moore, NOT CEH, not Pacheco but yes Mecole Hardman with 3 TDs on the day, with 4 in his last 2 games. 2 of those TDs came on runs which makes it more incredible. We have seen Hardman flash in the past and then come up with several duds, which probably will be the case, but it is worth a stash if you miss out on the top guys. He is the longest tenured Chief WR for a reason. Big play ability.

Marquise Goodwin (ESPN 0% Yahoo 0%)

Goodwin might be one of the top WR targets of the week for 2 reasons. One because DK Metcalf, who I totally jinxed. I ranted and raved about him never missing time on the week 7 pod and look at us now. Metcalf it looks like will probably be missing some time with injury. The other reason is Goodwin put in fucking work against the Chargers. The veteran made his presence felt with 4 catches on 2 TDs. Geno is in the middle of a resurgence, and he will continue to drive that spark with Goodwin as his most likely #2/

Juwan Johnson (ESPN 3% Yahoo 3%)

I put the name out into twitter on Thursday, to lead the people to some free money. Johnson had 2 TDs on 5 catches to have one of the best weeks for tight ends. The real starting TE for the Saints has 2 nice matchups coming up against the Raiders and Ravens

Irv Smith Jr. (ESPN 34% Yahoo 42%)

Smith Jr. is coming off a well needed bye. He caught a TD in his last start with 4 catches, but just 7 yards. Smith Jr was labeled a sleeper TE but has not provided much to the position. A matchup against the Cardinals, the worst team against TEs in fantasy is just what the doctor ordered. One of your best streaming options.
