It’s Finally Over
After a short 2 game winning streak this team, more specifically this coach and this defense, finally put us out of our misery. No more talk of running the table and hoping a miracle in East Rutherford occurs.
9 for 94 in the first half. 4 for 7 in the second half. How you go away from getting the ball in Saquon’s hands as much as possible is another of many questions Shurmur will face. Its a combination of poor play calling and another poor performance. considering they only ran 21 plays in the second half. Feed the ball to the guys who can win you games. Saquon and Beckham should be the only two getting the ball at this point. Sprinkle Shep in here and there. All of this is for not now. Since the draft position was ruined and no longer have a playoff shot, not that they ever did in the first place, this team is now stuck in limbo bickering and throwing blame around like children. Again, common theme here for these guys.
Shurmur has failed to show adjustments. They controlled the game in the first half. You knew the Eagles were going to adjust for the second half, and for some reason he not only didn’t adjust to them, he went away from the game plan that was beating them in the first place.
It is going to be very interesting to see what they decide to do here. I am a huge Eli guy, but you need to see what you have at some point, the guy clearly can’t play forever. You can’t sit him this week at home. Consider this week what should be a possible swan song for one of the greats. The guy who got us 2 rings. ELIte. No matter what any of the haters say, he got the job done when it mattered on the biggest stage of them all. If there is anything to look forward to this week lets hope its that.
