How bout them Cowboys

Todays team I dial in on is Dallas Cowboys

This might be one of the most exciting offenses in football this year. The Dallas Cowboys were highly efficient in 2019 and added to the already heavy arsenal.

Last years Cowboys offensive stats were off the charts. They led the league in overall offensive yards while finishing inside the top 7 in Rushing and Passing Touchdowns. They finished with the 6th most points and 6th most offensive plays so it’s safe to say they were pretty damn successful.

The 2020 season brings some change but not much to the star studded offense. Let’s take a look individually at the players who should have the most Fantasy Football impact for the boys.

Dak Prescott had a career season blowing his old previous highs of passing yards and passing touchdowns out of the water. We should continue to see more of this Dak with an even better receiver trio then last years. Prescott will certainly enjoy his first year under new head coach Mike McCarthy who isn’t shy about letting his QBs air it out. His current ADP has him as the 3rd QB being taken which may seem high, but is doable considering he finished as the 2nd highest scoring QB. To me it’s safe to say he will finish in the top 5.

Ezekiel Elliot continues to eat as they feed Zeke heavily each year. There’s not much to say other then he’s a clear top 5 pick in all draft formats. Some may me scared of McCarthys usage of running backs in past but I spit at that notion. McCarthy has never had a back as talented or versatile as Zeke. It also helps that he will be running behind one of the best lines in football. Draft him and enjoy the show.

Amari Cooper leads potentially the best trio of receivers in football. Not only is he the #1 option for Dallas but he’s now getting paid as it. Will the money match the value? I’m skeptical of it but nonetheless should be plenty successful. Cooper had his best statistical year and could even see improvement. Some may have him chalked in as a low end WR1 but I feel a helluva more comfortable with him as my 2nd. There will be a lot of balls to catch and Cooper will be there for most of them.

The 2nd WR spot is trickier as Dallas has 2 great options. On one hand they have Michael Gallup, the more proven option. On the other hand you have the flashy enticing 1st round pick. I truly feel Michael Gallup is the better fantasy option but my heart is telling me to draft Lamb over him. Allow me to further explain.

While Gallup is the more proven of the 2 and will see a slightly higher workload, I like to factor value through several instruments, one being ADP. Gallup currently can be had at the end of the 6th round while Ceedee Lamb is going 4 rounds later! Lambs snap count and timeshare should be slightly less then Gallup’s but Lamb will line up in the slot which will make him a very important piece to Dak who has relied on his slot receivers in the past (Beasley, Cobb). Either way both young studs should be rostered with WR3/Flex upside.

The tight end situation will be different with life long Cowboy Jason Witten heading to Vegas. Between Blake Jarwin and Witten last year, they combined for 124 targets. Witten had over 60 grabs and a few scores, but I am

not jumping on the Jarwin sleeper bandwagon. Possibly in deeper formats I would roster Jarwin but in a 12 man league I am looking elsewhere as all those targets should be scattered out between the multiple talented receivers. If you feel he’s going to be a big piece then like always TRUST YO GUT but make sure you wait until the last few rounds.

Dallas Cowboys offense should put on a show this year remaining as a top 5 offense in large part to its talented players, great offensive line play and head coach. Stay tuned for our next team…
