NFL News and Notes: Fantasy Football Impact

Melvin Gordon

It’s been reported Melvin Gordon is having a tough time adjusting to the altitude change in Denver. Gordon claims he bust his ass all offseason and still feels like when he’s running down field he’s feeling sluggish. Gordon is joining the Broncos after signing a 2 year $16 million pact and should be a huge part of the offense.

To anyone worried about this, don’t be. All players have to adjust to this same situation when playing in the mile high city. I wouldn’t drop Gordon from his current ADP because of this nonsense but if others do come draft day pounce on it.

Bryan Edwards

Mr Edwards, the 13th wideout drafted in the 2020 is trending heavy duty these days as he is getting compared to the likes of Davante Adams and Mike Williams. For all I know Edwards could be the next Randy Moss but him looking great in the early days of training camp is not something that turns me on. If you want to use a late round flyer on him by all means do it but there are still several receivers ahead of him on the depth chart. He is going to have to earn a starting spot which may be challenging with all the hands in Vegas

Parris Campbell

The 2nd year wideout for the Colts is quietly getting big praise from coaching staff. He has made some impressive catches so far in camp and the Colts have an open competition for the 2nd WR spot. Rivers is a shade of himself but last year the Chargers #2 wideout eclipsed the 1000 yard receiving mark. He is currently going undrafted in 12 team formats but he’s a guy who could provide late round talent.

Dez Bryant

After 2 years away from football, Bryant is back on his grind snatching a workout with the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens who are thin at the position have been linked to several

different wideouts all offseason. To the people on Twitter ranting about a Dez comeback, give me a break. In the rare occurrence he even makes the team he will hold no fantasy value. At his age sprinkled in with his time away from football, this ain’t your same Dez. I beg you, please don’t draft the old timer. It’s not going to be a steal. You will just look like an idiot as usual.

Darryton Evans

The Titans drafted 3rd round pick Evans with hopes of him dominating on 3rd down passing situations. His explosiveness and hands have PPR owners foaming from the mouth but the rookie might have landed himself in the doghouse already. 2 fumbles in Sunday’s practice is not how you want the beginning of training camp to go. It’s very early but the rookie can not turn the ball over if he wants valuable playing time behind all pro Derrick Henry.
