Week 13 Waiver Wire Targets

Teams on bye week,

Browns, Packers, Panthers, Titans

Carson Wentz (ESPN 44% Yahoo 57%)

One more time for the people in the back. Another WW target report with Wentz. Sorry but it has to be done. I hyped up Wentz this week against the Bucs as the top streaming option and theater paid off. In Week 13 Wentz takes on the Texans which should be another great opportunity.

Jimmy Garappolo (ESPN 16% Yahoo 34%)

Jimmy G is putting himself back on the map with the 49ers offense back to putting in work. The rushing attack was the main emphasis but JG did what was asked of him and has been a solid fantasy play for the better part of a month. He now gets the task of facing off with the Seahawks. Not a bad streaming option for those with QBs on a bye.

Jamaal Williams (ESPN 46% Yahoo 39%)

This week has potential to be one of the best RB pickup weeks in some time. It all started Thursday with D’Andre Swift leaving the contest early to injury. 15 carries for 65 rushing yards with 5 catches for J Will. Swifts shoulder injury is unknown but Williams has potential to be a starter most weeks if Swift misses anytime. We know what he is capable of, he just needs the workload. Add in all formats.

Dontrell Hilliard (ESP 18% Yahoo 24%)

We saw Hilliard break onto the scene last week in the passing game but this week he showed off his rushing abilities. It took just 12 rushes to accumulate 131 yards, including 68 of those yards for a TD. Tennessee has been hit severely with the injury bug and Dontrell has taken full advantage. Week 13 gives the Titans a week to get healthier but week 14 we will have to see what the backfield situation looks like at home against the Jags.

Alexander Mattison (ESPN 34% Yahoo 48%)

The RB position proves to be a brutal one for way too many reasons. Dalvin Cook suffered a shoulder injury late Sunday deemed to be so serious that he was carted off, clearly in pain. We all know the deal by now. If you have Cook and you don’t have Mattison on your bench, shame on you. Mattison instantly becomes a top 15 RB if Cook misses anytime. An MRI is schedule for Mondy so we will learn more then. In the meantime, if Cook misses anytime Mattison is the clear-cut top target this week.

Chuba Hubbard (ESPN 34% Yahoo 37%)

Another week another injured NFL RB. CMC was spotted in a walking boot after his week 12 matchup which spells nightmare for his owners. I hope if you drafted the top fantasy pick that you hung onto his handcuff. Like Cook above it remains to be seen if this injury is significant. At all costs get Hubbard if you have CMC, but if you don’t Hubbard is worthy of a claim considering how hard it is to obtain a starting RB this tune of the year.

Boston Scott (ESPN 17% Yahoo 19%)

Great Scott! Yet again Scott has an efficient day in a backfield that seems to have 47 RBs. He outworked Sanders which is an interesting decision. Howard was out and if he remains out Week 13 against the Jets Scott could be plugged into your starting lineups.

Matt Breida (ESPN 6% Yahoo 23%)

This emergence of Breida really came from no where. From nonexistent to being the lead carrier, Breida has become fantasy relevant. The Bills RBs have had ample opportunity to seize the job and failed while Breida is making a case to be the Bills RB to own. I still don’t fully have trust in him but he could be a nice bench piece.

Tevin Coleman (ESPN 24% Yahoo 18%)

I assumed we would see heavy Ty Johnson but the game script was spelt out for Tevin who revived a season high 16 carries. Coleman lost out to goal line touches and several 3rd down snaps but he ultimately seemed like the back to own in Carter’s absence. I have my eye on all of the RBs above but if you are in a deeper format Coleman be useful.

Russell Gage (ESPN 19% Yahoo 17%)

So much inconsistency with Gage but this past week shows you why his name always is on our radar. 6 catches 60+ yards and a TD on the day against the Jags. At the end of the day Gage will be Ryan’s top WR.

Kendrick Bourne (ESPN 15% Yahoo 23%)

I spoke on Bournes behalf not too long ago, and is seeming to be one of Jones favorite targets. With 2 TDs on the day, Bourne had his best game as a Pat and now has 5 TDs on the season. He isn’t a guy I feel overly confident as a flex play but he may be a good choice in deeper formats for you.

Van Jefferson (ESPN 42% Yahoo 48%)

I have been speaking all week how Jefferson may be the better WR then OBJ at this point for several reasons. They both finished with similar numbers in yardage and the TD which clearly shows they both can be fantasy relevant. I think Jefferson has to be on your squads considering the Rams schedule rest of the way. He flashes flex appeal in 12 team formats.

TY Hilton (ESPN 20% Yahoo 28%)

Hilton is a name I usually try to have people shy away from. He gets a lot of recognition still because who he is but clearly he’s an again bet. This past week though he snagged a TD with multiple catches against the Bucs. With bye weeks and injuries continuing to pile up, you could make the case that TY could be used in a 2nd flex spot.

Logan Thomas (ESPN 51% Yahoo 62%)

As I am writing this Logan Thomas is expected to play against the Seahawks. He was drafted by several managers in hopes of repeating last seasons success. His arrival is near, just in the right time considering WFT has been moving the ball more effective on offense. He is a red zone threat with a pretty solid playoff schedule.

Jack Doyle (ESPN 1% Yahoo 1%)

Doyle’s name pops up from time to time which speaks to his inconsistent play but his target share shows he’s been starting to have more involvement the past few weeks. He broke out this past week scoring more points then any other TE. Am I telling you to trust Doyle? Absolutely not. Be mindful though and not surprised if this recent play continues.

Foster Moreau (ESPN 1% Yahoo 1%)

Another backup taking advantage of opportunity. Foster was 6 for 6 with 60 yards and a TD on turkey day. Wallers knee injury isn’t thought to be serious, but his week 13 matchup could be in jeopardy. Moreau could be a nice streaming option.
