Week 14 Waiver Wire Targets

Week 14 teams on bye

Colts, Dolphins, Eagles, Patriots

Taysom Hill (ESPN 36% Yahoo 34%)

As much as I despise Hill as a QB, he brings flare to the position in Fantasy. Just look at his numbers last week, with 4 interceptions and still posting very good fantasy numbers. His rushing abilities and usage in the red zone is what catches the eye. He faces the Jets this week which puts him as a Fantasy start.

Taylor Heinicke (ESPN 27% Yahoo 23%)

Heinicke was a streaming option on this list several times earlier in the season and now he’s back with WFT riding a 4 game win streak. His overall numbers have not been ground breaking but they have been good enough with minimal turnovers. Against the Cowboys, he could be one of your better streaming options.

Kenneth Gainwell (ESPN 12% Yahoo 11%)

This Eagles RB circus is just that, a circus. Most of us felt Scott was going to take off against the Jets but he failed to log a snap despite being active. He was ill during the week so maybe that played some part in this but Sanders went off and Gainwell stepped in as the backup. Gainwell saw 12 carries on 54 yards with 3 catches and a TD. Gainwell flashed his potential earlier in the year but that clearly cooled off….until now. Hard to trust Eagles RBs but for the most part the next man up has been successful.

Dontrell Hilliard (ESPN 36% Yahoo 40%) D’Onta Foreman (ESPN 36% Yahoo 40%)

Hilliard has looked like the Titans RB to own after great week 12 and 13 performances. Foreman and Hilliard are looking to split the backfield but they showed they both can have success coexisting. I prefer Hilliard of the 2 considering he has added pass catching abilities to his resume with 8 grabs week 12. He is a great player to target for your playoff push. With that said Foreman definitely has to be rostered as well. He had a huge day rushing in week 12 is well rested for a matchup against the Jags.

Sony Michel (ESPN 32% Yahoo 54%)

Henderson was deemed active but did not log a carry against the Jags. Instead, we saw a heavy dose of Sony who did not disappoint. 120+ yards and a TD on the day shows Sony can be depended upon if Henderson misses time. It is expected that Henderson returns next week but if he doesn’t, Michel could be depended on vs. the Cards in week 14.

Tevin Coleman (ESPN 40% Yahoo 38%)

I was quite shocked at Ty Johnsons usage and how much of a workload Colemans been receiving. After last weeks game and 3 backs all equally sharing the rock, it was Coleman who was on an island of his own. 11 carries and he was quite efficient with them. He also added 3 catches to his total numbers. The Jets rushers are not on my wish list in fantasy but at this stage of the season its hard to find talent.

Rashad Penny (ESPN 2% Yahoo 6%)

With multiple injuries to Seattles rushing attack, Penny and Peterson split the workload. Penny looked like a crisp runner, going for 50 yards on 10 Carries. He had some impressive runs, enough to catch my eye. I am not putting much faith in him but he is someone to monitor at the least.

Amon-Ra St. Brown (ESPN 7% Yahoo 6%)

I went hard with St. Brown as a deep sleeper before the draft. Earlier on he was getting his targets but didn’t have much to show for it. The Lions finally found a way to get the rookie wideout involved. Both season highs in receptions (10) and targets (12) while recording his first NFL TD which just happened to be the game winning score with time expiring. Lets see if St. brown continues the momentum.

Russell Gage (ESPN 25% Yahoo 34%)

Gage has been slowly trending up the past 2 weeks and this past performance is icing on the cake. Gage is taking advantage of his name called upon with possibly his best stat line on the season. 11 grabs on 12 targets for 130 yards. This makes 4 out of his last 5 games with at least 7 targets. I’ve been saying for a while to snatch him on your bench.

K.J. Osborn (ESPN 4% Yahoo 3%)

As a Thielen truther this one hurts. My guy AT went down with an ankle injury that forced him not to return. Remains to be seem how much time could be missed but this is good news if you rostered Osborn. Osborn showed off the good earlier in the season but sizzled since. His playoff matchup is on the tougher side but he does have some flex appeal with all things considered.

Kendrick Bourne (ESPN 33% Yahoo 40%)

As I am writing this the Pats have not played yet but Bourne is turning into Mac Jones most successful WR. His overall numbers suggest that he is a low end WR2/High end WR3. He is the Patriots WR to own even over Meyers.

Deonte Harris (ESPN 4% Yahoo 17%)

Harris was the wideout who benefitted the most from Taysom Hill recording 4 catches 96 yards and a TD against the cowboys. Most of his damage came on a 70 yard TD grab. I am probably the last person to say anything nice about Taysom Hill and Saints WRs but when you face the Jets my tune tends to change. He has week 14 flex appeal.

Jalen Guyton (ESPN 0% Yahoo 0%)

Speaking of 4 catch 90 yards receivers, Guyton was a kid who I thought had potential to flourish as a 3rd WR in a potent offense and he has come off oh so short . Week 13 he has his best game and is looking to build on that. Some of us play in some deep format/crazy leagues. I think Guyton fits the mold for that.

Tyler Conklin (ESPN 35% Yahoo 30%)

A man who needs no introduction to this list. Conklin constantly Hoovers around just outside the top 12 for TEs placing him in the top streaming category. Against the Lions he had his best game in a few weeks, though it wasn’t much to run home about. The targets were there with 9 which could speak to Thielens missing presence. Week 14 Conklin stays right in that same area he has been relegated to in my rankings.

Gerald Everett (ESPN 7% Yahoo 29%)

Please check the tapes for Week 13 and you will find Everett probably had the worst/most humiliating performance on the day. Going to try my best to put that behind us and focus on week 14 where Everett gets the Texans and will look to bounce back.
