When we get to this point in the Fantasy Football calendar, you realize things are starting to simmer. The month of July is where champions in January are truly built. In July we take the time to analyze and predict. We ask questions like: who will be the biggest bust? Who will be the biggest breakout? And who will have me contemplating suicide after I drafted them as my RB1 but they are performing like a low end flex?

To take it to the next level in Fantasy Football you often have to be bold. Taking big risks can have massive payoffs wen it comes to playoff time. Here at GCF we always move in a bold direction and we encourage our GCF Fam to move with us in that direction. Here are our bold predictions for the 2022 Fantasy Football Season…

1. King Henry Will Take His Thrown Back

The prediction of the possible impending downfall of Derrick Henry is becoming way too popular within the fantasy football community. this is a guy who missed half of the season last year and still finished as a top 15 running back. Think about that for a minute people. The man didn’t play half the season and was still better than your RB2! Put your age and injury concerns aside. This man is still in my Top 3 overall rankings for 2022 and with all signs pointing to the Titans running it all the way back and making a run with the same type of offense this year; there is no reason to not go all in on the King.

2. Davante Adams will finish as the WR1 in 2022

The man who finished as the WR2 overall in 2021 is now in the Silver and Black down in Las Vegas. There is some doubt that Adams can replicate his Green Bay Production in Vegas without Aaron Rodgers, but most people expect him to have a good year. This is where we come in and fuck up your entire draft plan. Davante Adams is currently listed as the WR2 or WR3 depending on where you look. Behind only Cooper Kupp and Justin Jefferson, Adams is not expected to take the lead by most in the community. But to me, I think he is the most set up for success out of all three. We are obviously going to see regression from Cooper Kupp, that is a formality at this point, but what makes Adams a safer bet  to finish as the overall WR1 over Jefferson you ask? To me, it is two things. Familiarity and Help. Adams played with Carr in college and the two regularly work out together in the off season. There won’t be as many kinks to work out with his new QB as people may think. Adams also has way more help on the other side of the field than he ever has before in Hunter Renfrow. A number one receiver in his own right, Renfrow will draw major defensive attention leading to a lot of open looks for Adams. While I think Jefferson is definitely next up, for redraft PPR leagues, Adams is my WR1 easily.

3. Patrick Mahomes will finish as the overall QB1 in 2022

Mahomes is a popular pick to take a step back in his fantasy football production this year. While I recognize the lost of Tyreek Hill raised a few eye brows at GCF headquarters when the trade went down, I don’t think it will really hold Patty Mahomes back in the way people think. The addition of Juju Smith-Schuster and the rookie Skyy Moore are actually upgrades for Mahomes in my eyes. Moore is arguably a younger, faster version of Tyreek Hill. The offense will run the same as it has for the last five years under Eric Bienamy and we should see an uptick in pass receptions from Clyde Edwards-Helaire who showed signs of taking the next step in 2021. As of this writing, Mahomes is going around the middle of the 3rd round and is the 3rd QB overall behind Allen and Herbert. While this is still too early for me to draft a QB, grabbing Mahomes in the 3rd round is very tempting considering with the way most leagues are structured, he could be the #1 overall player in fantasy football next year.

Jalen Hurts Will Be a Top 3 QB In 2022

Jalen Hurts was left for dead by a lot of us in the Fantasy Football community. I am not one of those people. With the addition of AJ Brown, and another year under both Hurts and Devonta Smith’s belts, I feel like this Philly offense can truly be lethal. Hurts needs to get more accurate for sure, but with AJ Brown being an elite deep threat that isn’t afraid to lay out for catches, and Hurts natural elite running skills, I think we see a major uptick in both passing and rushing yards for Hurts. With a current ADP around 62, he could be an incredibly steal for your team this season.

Tyreek Hill Will Bust in 2022

With an ADP of 18 overall, the habitual under achiever when it comes to Fantasy Football is now in Miami with a significantly worse QB. To some, this may not be that “bold” of a prediction, but to many, with an ADP of 18 and hype building up that new QB Tua Tagavailoa may be even more accurate than Patrick Mahomes, this may come as a surprise. I am not touching Hill with a ten foot pole this season. If I am taking a wide receiver mid second round, I would much rather try to get Deebo Samuel, Mike Evans, or CeeDee lamb who are much safer bets this season.
