Week 2 Waiver Wire

Week 2 Waiver Wire

Carson Wentz (ESPN 17% Yahoo 13%)

Wentz is one of Seans favorite players that he’s is embarrassed for everyone to know. Wentz is like the fat chick you hooked up with in college. He gets the job done but you aren’t proud. In his first game for Washington Wentz had 300+ yards and 4 TDs. I know he faced a Jax defense who isn’t the most respected but I have to say I am pretty impressed. He has some favorable matchups moving forward so he can be a nice option if you lost Dak to injury.

Matt Ryan (ESPN 24% Yahoo 43%)

Speaking of same face new place, Matty Ices team did the last thing you ever want to see from your squad, Tie! Matty boy tossed 350+ yards and a TD. With games against Jax, Titans and Jax 3 out of the next 4 weeks, he’s another guy you might want to add for depth or if you had Dak.

Darrell Henderson (ESPN 46% Yahoo 76%)

Got majority of the work with Cam Akers usage drastically low. I feel Akers usage ramps up shortly but as of now Henderson looks like the Ram to own in the backfield.

Jeff Wilson (ESPN 4% Yahoo 16%)

Mitchell did what I felt would happen, just not already in week 1. He left the contest with a knee injury and we now know he will miss 2 months of the season. This is typical SF RB bullshit and is why I stayed away from Mitchell in every draft. Who knows which RB leads the way for San Fran, but we know Wilson is probably your safest option.

Jamaal Williams (ESPN 36% Yahoo 47%)

I wish Jamaal Williams could be the guy somewhere because he got that dog in him for real. We know D’Andre Swift is the top RB option but clearly Williams is the goal-line back with his 2 scores. Lions offense has vastly improved these past 2 seasons and that should not stop moving forward.

Kenneth Gainwell (ESPN 29% Yahoo 48%)

Sanders is still the guy in Philly but for how long? He led the way with Carries but Gainwell is being trusted in the redzone. He had a TD and was targeted a few times. Sanders has dealt with injuries several times in his career, so I feel the sophmore is bound to break through fighting for the starting gig. Plenty of safer options then Gainwell right now but in deeper leagues he can provide solid depth

Dontrell Hilliard (ESPN 4% Yahoo 7%)

My guy D-Train picked up where he left off last season. He had 4 targets for 3 catches and 2 touchdowns. In a backfield with the King, carries will always be extremely low but a third down back scenario is very much real. With Titans having limited options to throw too, Hilliard should have an important role for this offense.

Khalil Herbert (ESPN 25% Yahoo 41%)

I do not recommend any Chicago offensive players and probably won’t all season, but Herbert having more carries then Montgomery and being successful with those should keep your eyes peeled. 9 times for 49 yards and a Td. It’s something to keep in mind, especially if you wasted an early pick on D Mont.

Isiah Pacheco (ESPN 18% Yahoo 31%)

He was hyped up all preseason and showed off some of his talents, mostly in the 2nd half. My first born son CEH and McKinnon led the backfield but Pacheco said don’t forget about me! Chiefs were up big when Pacheco was leaned on more which resulted in 12 carries 62 rushing yards and a big TD. I’m not going all in on Pacheco but any player that plays with Mahomes has to be on your radar.

Jaylen Warren (ESPN 1% Yahoo 4%)

Najee Harris suffered a sprained ankle which I believe isn’t looking too serious. Jaylen is the backup to Harris and is the man too own if Najee misses anytime at all. Steelers face the Patriots this week who took an L, but held the Dolphins running game in check allowing 2.8 YPC

Rex Burkhead (ESPN 17% Yahoo 13%)

Sexy Rex Burkhead already a Waiver wire guy. I love this because everyone was hyped up about Pierce when I’m reality I was loving others reach up in drafts. Neither Rex or Pierce were too efficient but clearly the trust leaned toward the vet who had 14 Carries to pierces 11. Rex did make his presence felt in the passing game with 5 grabs. What a time to be alive. Played 71% of Houston’s snaps.

Curtis Samuel (ESPN 9% Yahoo 5%)

Samuel was a huge disappointment last season after signing a big contract with Washington. Injuries riddled his season but he’s off to a fantastic start in 2022. Samuel led the team with receptions and targets while adding a TD. New Washington QB Wentz couldn’t stop gazing into Samuels eyes and we should see plenty more of that week 2 against the Lions.

Joshua Palmer (ESPN 36% Yahoo 21%)

Palmer didn’t get much going in the Chargers win with 3 grabs but we did see Allen leave the contest with a hamstring injury. If you know Mikey Roc you know how he loves his Chargers wideouts. Allen had over 17 fantasy points last season in the one game Allen missed so there is that! If Allen misses time he’s a guy too watch.

Robby Anderson (ESPN 38% Yahoo 10%)

Who would of thought all Robby A needed was some of that Baker magic to kick off the season. 5 catches 8 targets 100+ yards and a 72 yard TD to have a Robby type of day. One of the best stats is the 100% of snaps he took.

Jahan Dotson (ESPN 57% Yahoo 23%)

Another Commanders WR on the wire (who would of thought. The first round pick had himself a day notching 2 touchdowns while seeing the field almost 100% of the game. Washington takes on the Lions in week 2.

Jarvis Landry (ESPN 58% Yahoo 42%)

The Saints offense had a lot of stories going into this game with Winston back from a big time injury as well as Michael Thomas with his injury woes. With Chris Olave drafted in the first round many were sleeping on Landry who had a massive game. 7/114 on 9 targets. Landry has been a reliable PPR weapon in years passed and I am loving the chemistry between Famous and him.

Julio Jones (ESPN 43% Yahoo 62%)

I’m not one of these fellas who was amping up Jones given he’s older and always injured, but I would be lying if I wasn’t impressed/intrigued with what I saw. 3 passes 69 yards with 2 carries on 17 yards. He was targeted down the field a few times and could provide some depth given Godwin will miss a few weeks with a hamstring strain.

Devin Duverny (ESPN 2% Yahoo 31%)

Devin had himself a day at MetLife with 4 catches and 2 TDs. With Hollywood Brown gone most have been pointing to Batemen as the next guy up. He rightfully so might be that guy but maybe we need to look elsewhere on the roster as well. Devin is one of my later options for WRs on the wire but with limited options for Lamar he may be a solid pickup in 12 team leagues.

OJ Howard (ESPN 0% Yahoo 1%)

Just signed with Houston and already putting his stamp of approval on the fan base. From catching balls from Thomas and now Davis Mills, who has had it better? 2 Tds in Sundays tie (vomit) and Houston now has a premier TE! I tease but after Cooks who else do we trust as pass catchers for OJ? This is a desperation pick if you really need a tight end.

Taysom Hill (ESPN 4% Yahoo 10%)

The great Taysom Hill ended his days with 4 rushes on 81 yards with a TD and 1 reception. Hill is the fantasy unicorn in which he does some creative things on the field. You might get a complete dud from the tight end or he might end the day throwing a TD pass with big time rushing numbers. You just never know!

Robert Tonyan (ESPN 19% Yahoo 23%)

Tonyan played his first game in almost a year with the cheeseheads. He didn’t light up the world, but just being on the field was huge for the Packers. In 2020 Tonyan had the best catch rate in football for tight ends and the Packers are hoping he brings back that form.
