We basically told the Mets to Hire Van Wagenen. You’re Welcome.

Last week I wrote a blog stating how the New York Mets needed to go and get ya boy Brodie from CAA. And today they announced they hired the former agent and signed him up for 4 years to be the head of one if the biggest shit shows in NY.

Do I feel personally responsible for the Wilpons finally coming to their senses? Maybe. Does Jeff Wilpon follow us on twitter? No. But does he read Grand Central Fantasy blogs? Absolutley!

Now I am just going to spit some straight up facts right now.

Fact #1 Van Wagenen is a great choice for this job. The guy knows the free agent market as well as ANYBODY in MLB. Last year Sandy Alderson embarrassed the Mets organization, by saying, and I’m paraphrasing here ” I didn’t know relievers would cost that much” when asked by reporters why the Mets didn’t add any high profile arms. Something like this will never happen again mets fans!

Fact #2 When the Mets are good it’s good for the MLB. The Mets are an annoying little brother to Yankee fans, but to the rest of the league they should be looked at as a cornerstone of the league. In the biggest and best market for sports the Mets can be a dumpster fire but the years when they do get it together, they are a fun fucking team to watch. Mets fans are passionate and want a title more than they want to hit the lotto. And you can’t say that about 75% of teams in this league.

So congrats Met fans on a step in the right direction. And once again. You’re welcome.
