Week 9 Waiver Wire

If your QB is on a bye this week I recommend streaming Alex Smith who is owned in under 50% of all leagues. Redskins take on a Falcons defense that has surrended 3+ TDs to QBs in 5 of its last 6 games. Alex Smith has let down a lot of believers this year, but this might be is best opportunity to redeem his poor season. Alex Smith makes for a smart streaming choice as well given his ability to limit turnovers.

Derek Carr comes in as a weekly streamer. The Raider QB faces the 49ers who have given up the 6th most fantasy points to Qb’s. Carr had a fine week against the Colts and should have average success at minimum.

Just like we predicted, Jalen Richard had a huge impact catching out of the back field. Richard was added to the waiver wire report last week and needs to be thrown on it again. For some reason he is owned in just half of ESPN leagues. With Cooper out and Lynch on the IR, there will be several targets available. Add him while you still can because after this week he will most likely not be available.

Josh Adams is a name to keep an eye on. He is barely owned in any leagues and is on a bye this week. We place Adams on your watch list because of the Eagles RB situation. Since Ayaji went down, no running back has really showed they can be the top guy. This past week Adams carried the ball more then any other eagle back. If you have room on your roster and need a rb, stash Adams in hopes of him claiming that top spot.

Many sites are telling fantasy owners to place a claim on Trenton Cannon. He possesses flash and speed, but hasn’t showed us much on the field as of yet. I am more intrigued with Elijah McGuire, owned in less then 10% of leagues. McGuire ( who should be returning from the IR as soon as this week) gave us a sample of what hes made of last year in his rookie campaign. With Powell done for the year, the Jets are in need of another back to pick it up. Crowell has been a nice addition, but the Jets clearly like to run the ball with a more balanced RB system. Look for McGuire to fill that role upon his arrival.

What WR has the most fantasy points for the Seahawks you ask? Doug Baldwin of course…I’m sorry I meant Tyler Lockett. Wrong again??? Who the hell else plays for that team? Enter David Moore 2nd year man out of East Central University. Moore has snatched 4 TDs in his past 3 games. I would like to see his targets go up a bit more, but in this small sample size you have to like what you see. Owned in less then 5% of all leagues.

With D Thomas heading to Houston, Courtland Sutton is the next man to step up to the plate. Sutton should be effective right out of the gate. As the 3rd WR on the depth chart Sutton averaged 19.1 yards per reception. Imagine that production in a starting role? Sutton is a must add in all formats.

If you need a wideout for week 9, look no further. DJ Moore who is owned in less then 20% of leagues faces the awful Bucs defense. Tampa Bay currently gives up the 2nd most fantasy points to wide receivers. With Torrey Smith out, Moore took full advantage racking up 129 yards. If you have receivers on a bye, snatch this dude up.

Jack Doyle returned last week and looked great. 6 catches on 70 yards for a tight end nowadays is solid production. With the Colts on a bye he isn’t a weekly streamer pick, but he has shown in the past that he has top 10 talent. Chris Herndon is a nice option this week. The rookie from the U hauled in a touchdown for the third consecutive week. The Dolphins are tied in first (with several teams) with most touchdowns given up to tight ends.
