5 Bold Predictions for the Mets

1) Amed Rosario joins the 20/20 club

In his first full year as a pro, Rosario flashed his potential in a big way. It may have took him a few months to find his groove, but at the young age of 22 no one should of expected top tier talent. Over 64 games post All Star break, Rosario hit .268/.302/.383 with ten doubles, five home runs, and eighteen stolen bases. The stolen base should not be an issue, but the homerun total would come as a surprise to some people. Not to me.

2) Jacob Degrom wins 20+

Fresh off a contract, Degrom is sitting on top of the world. A well earned pay day is a great sign of the Mets commitment to homegrown talent and to winning. Speaking of winning, Degroms win total was the lowest of any Cy Young SP ever. With an improved lineup and much different offensive approach, Degrom will see a major uptick in the win total column. Now this might not be to far fetched, but it’s something owed to the best pitcher in the league.

3) Wilson Ramos will stay healthy

The Mets have been starved for a great offensive hitting catcher and they finally made there move. While Ramos is known as a power hitting and solid defender, he also carries around the injury prone tag. I’m gambling on Ramos staying healthy. D’Arnaud will benefit from less playing time (less wear and tear) but injury will certainly come. The Mets signed a solid well known bet who knows this staff as well(Rivera). That will give the Mets ample opportunity to give Ramos plenty of rest. Ramos will play 120+ and you’ll like it!

4) Familia has his best year

Familia has has stellar years as a Met but with those moments came several shaky situations. One of Familias downfalls was pitching in high pressure situations. From the World Series to the 2016 wildcard game to multiple wild performances, Familia has has some struggles. Let’s be clear on one thing, Familia has some dirty stuff. With the trade bringing in the young stud from Seattle to wrap up games, Familia finds himself in a less pressure form. Chalk this up to his best year yet

5) Mets stay competitive past June!

I kid with this but actually I’m serious. The New and revamped Mets can not be taken lightly by there NL East foes. While they may not matchup to the same standards as some, they will be competitive the whole year. I am not so certain the playoffs are in this years cards, but they should be fighting for a wild card spot to the end. Hopefully the new culture Mets brings NY baseball back to Queens
