Same Face New Place Fantasy Football Edition

Same face new place By Michael Vallaro

It’s time to talk fantasy fucking football and my nipples couldnt be harder. Yes it’s only June and we have months before opening day but why not get an early edge for draft day. GCF is here to provide top notch information and the best advice possible.

This blog will contain players who were either traded or signed in the offseason. The stars like OBJ, Antonio Brown and Bell I will refrain from speaking of because let’s be serious, they will continue to rake. This offseason was stacked on the defensive sign via free agency. Aside from Leveon Bell, there were no game changers available.

However several individuals were placed in the right situations, which will accelerate there careers and your fantasy teams. It is difficult at times to predict the success of a player once he switches jerseys. Systems and coaches play vital roles in whether a player will garner success. To properly identify who will be more successful than the next guy, we viewed several players and determined these motherfuckers are going to put in work.

Mark Ingram

One of my favorite signings of the whole offseason goes to the Ravens inking Mark Ingram to a 4 year deal. Although Ingram is on the older side for a RB(29), he has plenty of tread left on his tires. Playing in New Orleans, Ingram has split carries (most recently with Alvin Kamara), which has allowed him to stay fresh throughout the years . Ingram currently ranks outside the top 10 for most rushing attempts for active backs. Mark couldn’t have found a better home in Mobtown. We at GCF like to be brutally honest. Lamar Jackson as a passing quarterback sucks, but the offensive product and gameplan last year was productive. Heavier rushing attack then any other team with a physical down your throat style is just up the vets alley. Ingram will be in high demand come draft day. Target him as your potential low end RB2.

Latavius Murray

Lets stay on the New Orlean RB trend and talk about the signing of running back Latavius Murray. We have seen the success with Saints running backs in recent years despite future HOF QB Drew Bree thriving in the passing game. The Saints quickly turned to LM who has supplied the Raiders and Vikings with productive seasons. Murray has only missed 3 games in 5 seasons and has been successful in the TD department in mostly a backup role. Being #2 in the Saints offense is plenty ok in my book (look at Ingram’s past successes). Sign me up for a low end RB2 role in a similar category as Ingram.

Golden Tate

With all the headlines this offseason for the Giants, one makes our list for good reason. Tate has made a name for himself in the league as one of the top slot guys. To me the Giants signing Tate was very strange but he should have a productive season. At this stage in his career, Eli may be limited to short field and safer passes so Tates excellent route running should compliment that. Between defenses focusing in on the latest prodigy RB and people already counting out the G men for the playoffs, the Giants WR should feel little pressure. Tate missed 100 targets for this first time in his career (98) but should be right back in that ballpark. Draft Tate as your WR3/4.

Devin Funchess

Funchess looked like a wideout on the rise after his 2017 campaign but put up a stinker last year with the Panthers. Luckily this year he will be with one of the premier, if not the best Quarterback in the NFL. The Colts have plenty of mouths to feed, but at the young age of 25, Funchess will factor in the Indy offense especially when it comes to red zone targets. I’m not ready to take a flyer on Funchess as an early target but when you are filling out your depth chart Funchess should get strong consideration.

Jared Cook

I swear I am no Saints fan but I enjoyed there offseason from a fantasy perspective. Jared Cook lands in NOLA where they have not had huge numbers from the position since Jimmy Graham’s departure. Cook enjoyed a career year exceeding 100 targets and 6 touchdowns. Cook may not finish as a top tight end but he will supply fantasy teams with a solid starter.
