BREAKING: DO NOT DRAFT GORDON

Ian Rappaport is reporting that Melvin Gordon’s holdout will last “into the beginning of the year” at least. This is a MAJOR red flag for fantasy football players everywhere.

We have been keeping up with these holdouts closely here at GCF and the Gordon one just feels different to me. It feels more like Le’Veon Bell than any other holdout going on this off season. Gordon is entering the 5th year of his deal and can be franchised by the Chargers next year if they so choose. Bell was entering his franchise tag season, but it seems like he has laid a blueprint for for all players who want to hold out, and that plan basically comes down to….

Fuck Everyone. Hold out.

And what does that mean for your fantasy team? It means you stay the hell away from Melvin Gordon. Unless you are in a keeper league and you can get him later on, but for all redraft leagues do not touch him. Even if he falls into the 7th round and on will be a waste of a pick.

The Chargers have no incentive to give Gordon a new deal with the depth in their backfield. Do not let the media narrative fool you. If Gordon doesn’t come back to the negotiating table; he will sit out the entire year.
