Colts Shit out of Luck?

Andrew Luck stunned the world with his recent retirement news. Calling it quits after the physical and mental toll his body has fought through, Luck made the extremely tough decision which he felt was the right one.

My first thought sadly was OMG, people drafted this fucker in fantasy drafts. If you were one of them I am very sorry for you. If you weren’t someone who drafted Luck, make sure you point and laugh because that’s hilarious.

My 2nd thought was without Luck, players are shit out of Luck. After researching I found that yes some ate literally shit out of Luck while others surprisingly might benefit.

TY Hilton WR

Instantly TY Hilton’s value should plummet without his All Pro QB right? Let’s go back to 2017 when Luck sat out the year with injury. Hilton was heavily relied on by Brissett, each playing 16 games with each other. Hilton hauled in close to 1000 yards and 4 TDs. These numbers don’t jump off the screen but Brissestt was traded September 2nd of 2017 to the Colts as a 24 year old and was thrown into the fire just 8 days later as the starting QB.

TY Hilton averaged 8.9 yards per catch with Brissett behind center, which almost matches up with his career average of 9.2 I think it’s fair to assume some sort of progression but to me, I would only drop Hilton in my rankings by 3-5 spots and still expect production from him.

Marlon Mack RB

Here is someone I worry about. In no way do I mean any disrespect to the young talented back, but I feel Mack takes a step back. The Colts struggled heavily from a rushing standpoint in 2017. Chalk it up to a horrible offensive line or to poor RB play if you want, I’m blaming it on opposing defenses. Brissett is a talented QB but let’s not fool ourselves, he’s not scaring to many defensive coordinators. Teams stacked the box against the colts in 2017 and will do so this year as well. Teams are going to put pressure on the young QB with 7-8 men in the box, which could ultimately effect the Indy RB play.

Jack Doyle TE

This man right here might benefit more then any player on the Colts offense. It was clear in 2017 Brissett had his safety blanket in Doyle. The chemistry was real, with Doyle leading the team in targets. Doyle had a career year under Brissett snagging 80 balls. Doyle should make for a great fantasy play this year. He presents great value as he is going undrafted in many leagues. If you enjoy to wait on your tight end in drafts as I do, Doyle is your guy who should provide plenty of production.
