Fantasy Baseball Must Have Player Series: Jose Ramirez

Jose Ramirez has fully came into his own as a one of the top talents in the MLB and those results have translated to fantasy baseball. In 2017 his ADP was around the 9th round. In 2018 it was around the 2nd or 3rd. This year the Dominican native’s ADP is number 3 overall. Quite a meteoric rise if I do say so myself.

Ramirez is a must have for many reasons. He is an absolute stud in points leagues due to his big homerun potential (39 dingers last year) and his low strike out rate. And if youre a rotisserie league type of guy he gives you literally everything you need. Average, steals, homers, everything except ERA and innings pitched! Ramirez’ position eligibility is incredibly enticing as well. He is primarily a 3rd baseman, but some formats have him as a second basemen as well. These are the little things that champions think of on draft day. A guy with multiple position eligibility gives you options. And options are what gives you lineup flexibility. And lineup flexibility is one of the main assets that lead to a fantasy baseball title.

You can look up Ramirez stats on your own. Trust me, they’re insane. But we make a big push for Ramirez around here because he is on the edge of fully taking the MLB and making it his bitch. If you have to trade for him, do it. If you have to take him number one over all, do it. Mike Trout is a legend, and my personal number 2 player for Fantasy Baseball 2019, but Ramirez has solid potential for a 40 home run 40 steal season. And that is the type of production only championship teams put on a fantasy field.
