Make it 6

It wasn’t the prettiest Super Bowl but the Patriots notched there 6 franchise title. This also embarks Belichick and Brady’s 6th title, the most by a coach/QB duo all-time. Edelman took home the MVP honors with a dominant performance. He ripped apart the Rams secondary with double digit catches and 140+ yards.

The keys to the Patriots victory were similar to all of there playoff victories this year. A heavy dose of the run game was fed to the Rams defense. All week we heard how Donald and company need to put pressure on Brady. You can’t put pressure on Brady constantly when you have the Pats run 32 times.Rookie Sony Michel showed up for the big game, along with Burkheads solid ypc. The MVP honors really should go to the Patriots offensive line who played a perfect game. They allowed Brady time in the pocket regardless of Brady’s subpar performance.

The Rams are a young, talented club who were not ready for the big moment. It showed mostly in Gurley and Goff. The look in there eyes wasn not quite the same as the fire in Brady’s. The Rams o-line was not ready for the packages the Pats defense was throwing at them. Constant pressure up the middle forced Goff to feel uncomfortable the whole game. It never let him get into a rhythm and perform at a level we are accustomed too.

Despite the Rams struggles on both sides of the ball they hung around. Late into the 4th the Rams still had a shot but just couldn’t get it done. The Rams should hold there heads high considering the constant changes to the franchise these past years. From 4 wins in 2016 to a Super Bowl appearance 2 years later is a huge feat. Don’t be surprised if the Rams are back in the big game next year with a few tweaks to its squad.

The legacy of Tom Brady continues and for some familiar feeling in my gut it doesn’t seem to be going away. Brady states he wants to play another 3-4 years and at this rate who would be surprised? Belichick also deserves praise as he always has his team ready for the big game, win or lose. What these 2 men have done in there careers is unheard of. Let all us non-Patriot fans hope this title was the last of them!
