Degrominator is Locked in

With the biggest contract the Mets have ever handed to a player, Degrom will stay put for the next 5 years in orange and blue.

The deadline was coming to a close with opening day just around the corner. The Mets locked in the most important player to there team. Brodie was very active in negotiations and sold the Wilpons on spending the cash.

This is huge for multiple reasons.

1) There is a culture change in Flushing. Brodie came in and is making a statement. You perform well you will get paid. He is showing he isn’t hesitant to take care of his own, no matter the price. If players under team control were hesitant about getting possible deals done, they should be feeling more optimistic.

2) The drama surrounding the Mets about if they will or won’t sign Degrom won’t float over there heads. Headlines always seem to find the Mets but this huge one will no longer be an issue. No more distractions about this and no more NY media in every players face asking questions.

3) The numba 1 (Mike Francesca voice) reason this is fucking huge is because we just locked up the best pitcher in baseball. What a great feeling, something the fan base and organization needed.

There is usually a black cloud floating over Citifield but today the sun is shining. Hopefully the culture of this organization continues to shift in a positive and winning direction. These words are hard for me to type together, Good Job Wilpons! (That felt awkward)
